THE ROBINS bolstered their lead at the top of the Elite League table with a 6 point victory over Coventry on an action packed night at the Abbey Stadium.
Supporters travelling to Blunsdon from the A419 for this Thursday’s meeting against Coventry are being advised of a new road network when entering the Abbey Stadium.
A luckless Swindon were defeated by fourteen points on a night of action packed speedway at Poole's Wimborne Road stadium. The Robins stayed in contention for the majority of the meeting but were unable to halt the Pirates charge in the latter stages.
Leigh Adams top scored for the Robins with fifteen points and was the only Swindon rider to register a double points haul.
Despite a spirited effort Swindon were defeated two points at Eastbourne. With the scores level enetering heat fifteen the Eagles pairing of Scott Nicholls and Edward Kennet collected a 4-2 heat advantage which proved enough to take victory.
Leigh Adams notched up a twelve point haul whilst Seb Alden contributed an impressive 10+2 score from reserve.
WITH last Monday night’s meeting at Belle Vue being Swindon’s third away match of the season, the Robins have been issued with their first set of new green sheet averages for the season.
AS PREVIOUSLY mentioned, Swindon will NOT be appearing at Coventry on 2 May, as originally scheduled, because the Bees will now be facing Poole that evening in the Craven Shield semi-final.
In addition, the Robins will not now be riding at Poole on 30 April, due again to the Craven Shield semi-final. However, Swindon's match at Wimborne Road has quickly been re-scheduled and will now take place on Monday 5 May.
THERE will be a painting and general tidying up session at the track this Saturday morning (19 April), starting between 8.45 and 9.00 a.m., and going on until about 12.00 noon, weather permitting.
