MORE accolades for Swindon Robins’ skipper Leigh Adams! The ‘Sultan of Slide’ was presented with the keys to Mildura in recognition of his significant sporting contribution to the Mildura community.
On Australia Day (26 January), the Mildura Rural City Council awarded Adams with the Key to the City of Mildura in recognition of his significant sporting contribution to the local community.
He was honoured to receive the award and Leigh and family all got invited to the traditional Australia Day Breakfast for the presentation.
Leigh commented: ‘This kind of award is very humbling, especially coming from my hometown. I have said many times before that 2007 was my best year in speedway so far, but this is a fantastic way to launch the 08 season.
‘It’s the icing on the cake for me, my family and the team and something that we can draw on to push for bigger this year. I am very relaxed and chilled and we have had a lot of fun back home here, but come March we are back on the gas.’
