THE Swindon Robins have released their 2008 fixture list. And it promises to be another high-octane campaign in British speedway’s nine-team top-flight, the Sky Sports Elite League.
The Season Launch kicks everything off at the Abbey Stadium on 10 March and, five days later, the Robins travel to Eastbourne for their opening Craven Shield fixture.
That immediately creates a tremendous amount of interest, as it brings Swindon face-to-face with former club favourite Lee Richardson, who has joined the Eagles on loan this term.
The Robins then begin their home campaign with the return Craven Shield match versus Eastbourne on 20 March.
The home and away legs of the Elite Shield against Coventry take place on Easter Sunday and Monday, respectively; the much-anticipated clashes between last season’s top two sides having been put back 10 days apiece from those originally reported some time ago.
