Swindon Robins’ No. 1 and World Speedway No. 2 Leigh Adams will be joining 300 milers in pulling on their Sport Relief socks and warming up at Kingsdown School, before making their way along the route through the school grounds.

Sport Relief 2008 is all about challenging yourself, friends, family and colleagues to do something sporty and raise cash.

Connor Crespin, head organising student said: “It’s a great honour for Leigh to be joining us for this event right at the beginning in what is to be a very busy season for him.”

Sport Relief harnesses the power and passion of sport to change lives for the better. By participating in sport, having fun and raising money, everyone can do good and feel good.

Comic Relief spends the money raised to help vulnerable people living incredibly tough lives, both at home in the UK and in the world’s poorest countries.

The nine-times Australian Champion said of his involvement: “It is fantastic that so many people are getting active and for such a great cause.

"I look forward to joining the residents of Swindon in the one-mile run and wish those taking part in the six and three-mile events the best of luck.”

There are over 200 Sport Relief events taking place across the UK and it is a Comic Relief initiative.

Since 2002, Sport Relief has raised almost £50 million to help vulnerable people.
