pav SWINDON roared to an eight point victory at Lakeside and in doing so became to first away team to win at the Hammers' Purfleet raceway in 2008.

Incredibly, Jurica Pavlic romped to a jaw dropping twenty one point maximum from his seven ride schedule. Meanwhile, Leigh Adams eased to a paid eighteen point maximum which ensured the Australian now tops the Swindon Speedway all time top scorers list.

Led by truly sensational individual performances from Jurica Pavlic and Leigh Adams, Swindon became the first team in 2008 to inflict a home defeat on Lakeside.

Pavlic and Adams contributed a truly staggering paid thirty nine of Swindon’s eventual fourty nine points score. Both emphatically romped to maximum points hauls and collectively took victory in twelve of the fifteen races.

Leigh Adams’ paid eighteen point maximum means the Robins’ Captain has now surpassed Martin Ashby's points record and with a tally of 5,482.5 assumes top spot in Swindon’s all time scorers chart.

Meanwhile. Jurica Pavlic’s breath-taking twenty one point haul at Lakeside, a venue he had never raced on before, means the Croatian wonder kid has notched paid fourty six points in just three meeting for the Robins.

Pavlic was simply sublime throughout and the nineteen year old once again demonstrated his extraordinary talent with a string of seven straight heat wins.

His performance was laced with speed, determination, track craft and lightening fast gating skills that left the rest of the field trailing.

James Wright also enjoyed a decent night and fought tenaciously to register a useful five point score. Swindon deployed the rider replacement for Mads Korneliussen who was competing in the Danish Championship at Outrup.

Troy Batchelor contributed one heat victory as he collected six points whilst Travis McGowan and Manuel Hauzinger endured a miserable meeting in which they were unable to score.

The Lakeside score chart was headed by Joonas Davidsson whilst recently acquired number eight Kauko Niemenen rode well to collect paid twelve.

However, the Hammers were simply unable to halt the spirited charge of Pavlic and Adams who combined for a 5-1 in the final race of the night to make sure of victory.

After successive points shares in the opening two races, Lakeside edged ahead with a 4-2 in heat three. Pavlic and Batchelor levelled the scores with a well worked Swindon 4-2 in race four before Adams and Wright combined for a second successive Robins’ 4-2 in heat five.

Pavlic and Wright shuffled the Swindon lead to four points in race eight but a 5-1 from Adam Shields and Joonas Davidsson in the following race levelled the scores.

However, Swindon gathered positive momentum in the final third of the encounter and collected three heat advantages. Lakeside couldn’t penetrate the Swindon guard and the Robins’ nurtured a four point lead entering heat fifteen.

Adams and Pavlic concluded proceedings in perfetct style with a cleverly worked 5-1 that handed Swindon victory by a deserved eight point margin.
