TROY Batchelor had to settle for fourth spot in the Australian Under-21 Final, as Chris Holder powered to another title at Mildura.
Batchelor won a run-off against Edinburgh recruit Aaron Summers for the last qualifying place in the final. However, having got to the showdown race, he fell and was excluded, leaving Holder to take victory ahead of Tyron Proctor.
Batchelor was running second to Holder in the original staging of the final, when he fell on the third lap.
After the meeting, he said to Motorcycling Australia publicity officer Andrew Weiss: 'I gave it a shot, I had to go. I tried my hardest and that’s all that you can do, but now I’ll just have to concentrate on other stuff. I’d rather come last than second, so I had to have a go.'
