SWINDON manager Alun Rossiter speaks to swindon-speedway.co.uk about Thursday's twelve point defeat against Poole.
On the result
It is a very disappointing; we knew Poole would provide strong opposition and that proved to be the case. It’s clear that certain riders didn’t do well enough this evening and the performances they are currently contributing just aren’t good enough. I’ll spend plenty of time reflecting on tonight and making sure the same mistakes aren’t made again this season'
Gating
It was clear for everyone to see that our gating was completely atrocious this evening, we need to up our game from the start. We’re making things unnecessarily hard for ourselves by trailing into the first corner.
Form of Travis McGowan
Obviously Travis is struggling, not just with confidence but also his machinery. We’ll sit down and talk to him to see how we can overcome the current problems . Travis is aware these sort of performances aren’t acceptable, however we can’t just wave a magic wand and make everything better.
Form of James Wright
James has the speed but he will be the first to admit he’s chasing the wrong racing lines. His drop to reserve in June will benefit him and I’m confident his scores will begin to improve.
The hectic June schedule
We need to stick together, it is no good being overly negative. Our impressive unbeaten home record had to end at some stage and now it has. We’ll take this result on the chin, go away and re-group and make sure we rectify the problems that have haunted us this evening.
