The brilliant Leigh Adams eased to his 100th Swindon maximum as his side comfortably brushed aside the challenge of Peterborough.

The superb skipper was simply a class above a made light work of some tricky track conditions to record a paid twelve point maximum that was, as usual, the backbone of Swindon’s success.

Swindon roared into a commanding twelve point lead after heat six but were eventually restricted to a five point victory as the Panthers gained momentum in the latter stages.

Troy Batchelor withdrew from the meeting after his third ride due to sickness. The Australian had eased to victory in his first race but looked jaded in his second and third outings.

Elsewhere, James Wright’s fabulous progress continued with vigour as the British rider collected an eye-catching paid twelve points from his five ride schedule.

Mads Korneliussen’s productive nights work seemed to suggest his machinery gremlins are now behind him whilst guest inclusion Krysztof Stojanowski collected an entertainingly acquired paid seven points.

Leigh Adams got proceedings underway in typically dominant fashion with a comfortable tapes to flag victory . James Wright recovered from a poor start to move into third spot on the opening lap and chased Rory Schlein for the remainder of the race but despite gaining ground on the Australian was unable to conjure a pass.

The Peterborough reserve pairing of Fisher and Risager showed great speed in the ensuing race to ease away from the Swindon pairing. Kryszstof Stojanowksi made a favourable get away but drifted wide on the exit of turn two which allowed the Panthers duo to grab the ascendancy.

Mads Korneliussen rode to an untroubled heat three victory whilst Kenneth Bjerre and Travis McGowan indulged in an absorbing duel for second spot. It was the Peterborough man who eventually prevailed after repelling a spirited charge from McGowan who showed plenty of speed.

Swindon re-gained the lead in heat four with a well worked 5-1 courtesy of a lightening quick Troy Batchelor and a tenacious ride from Krysztof Stojanowski. The latter did well to keep at bay a spirited charge from Ryan Fisher who fell when launching a wide attack on bend one, lap three.

A re-run heat five saw Swindon extend their lead with a second successive 5-1 as Travis McGowan and Mads Korneliussen rode a largely untroubled race. Rory Schlein came to life in the latter stages whilst Claus Vissing struggled with the grippy conditions and fell on the second bend of the third lap.

The dynamic pairing of Leigh Adams and James Wright romped to Swindon’s third successive 5-1 heat advantage in heat six which propelled the Robins’ into a commanding twelve point lead.

Peterborough hit back emphatically in race seven as Kenneth Bjerre collected victory whilst nominated for a tactical ride and was joined out front by team partner Henning Bager. Troy Batchelor put pressure on the two Panthers riders but was unable to depict a route past the team riding duo.

Swindon recovered in heat eight with a 4-2 from Wright and Stojanowski.

Successive Swindon 5-1 heat advantages ensued in heats nine and ten as the Robins began to flex their wings. Mads Korneliussen and Travis McGowan romped to victory in heat nine whilst Adams and Wright left the Panthers trailing in race ten.

Peterborough surprisingly struck back with a 5-1 of their own in heat eleven as Kenneth Bjerre and Claus Vissing headed Troy Batchelor. Clearly struggling, Batchelor withdrew from the meeting on returning to pits due to sickness.

The initial staging of heat twelve was halted as Ryan Fisher collided with Krysztof Stojanowski on bend four of lap one. Fisher was excluded from the re-run which saw Kenneth Bjerre ease to victory in front of the tenacious Stojanowski.

Adams eased to victory in thirteen to maintain Swindon’s sixteen point advantage before Peterborough notched up a well worked 5-1 in heat fifteen from Ryan Fisher and Henning Bager.

The Panthers late charge continued in heat fifteen as the Cambrideshire side collected a 4-2 which moved their overall tally onto forty four points.

Swindon’s eventual five point margin of victory perhaps should have been significantly greater and Alun Rossiter’s men will need to ride with more conviction if they are to repel what will be a stronger challenge from Poole at Blunsdon next Thursday.
